Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula and general manager Brandon Beane held a disastrous press conference on Wednesday to discuss Sean McDermott's firing and the search for their next head coach. Sophomore wide receiver Keon Coleman caught a stray. Pegula disrespected Coleman in a manner that makes it difficult to move forward with the player in 2026.
Pegula essentially blamed McDermott and the coaching staff for convincing Beane to draft Coleman. Not only does that contradict previous evidence, but it also essentially confirms their disappointing view of Coleman as a player. The former Florida State standout hasn't met his first-round billing, but saying so publicly doesn't indicate they possess much faith in his development.
Wow. #Bills owner Terry Pegula says the coaching staff pushed to draft WR Keon Coleman and that was never GM Brandon Beane's top choice in that situation.

"That was Brandon being a team player. ... He's taken heat over it. I'm here to tell you the true story."

Coleman should be traded this offseason. We've identified three potential landing spots.
New Orleans Saints
Coleman hails from Louisiana and starred locally for Opelousas Catholic School. The Bills would probably prefer to trade Coleman to the NFC to avoid keeping him in the conference. The New Orleans Saints are a potential landing spot for a variety of reasons.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis is tasked with investing in Tyler Shough’s development this offseason. Shough performed like a franchise quarterback throughout his rookie season. Chris Olave is the only long-term solution at receiver on the roster. Acquiring Coleman would add another big-bodied boundary target to Kellen Moore's offense.
Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons recently hired Kevin Stefanski to be their next head coach. When they fired Arthur Smith and appointed Raheem Morris, they went from an offensive-minded leader to a defensive one. The pendulum has swung back in favor of the offense as Stefanski will be tasked with getting more out of Michael Penix Jr. and the impressive supporting cast in place.
Tight end Kyle Pitts is a pending free agent. Darnell Mooney is the current WR2 behind Drake London, but the Falcons don't have enough depth and competition at the position. Coleman would be a worthwhile reclamation project in Stefanski's QB-friendly offense.
New York Giants
The New York Giants are in a similar position to the Saints. They have a promising young quarterback in Jaxson Dart who is worth investing talent around. New head coach John Harbaugh possesses enough power to influence roster decisions. Harbaugh is familiar with Coleman from his frequent matchups against the Bills.
Superstar receiver Malik Nabers still faces a lengthy road to recovery from a devastating season-ending knee injury suffered in late September. The Giants have five wide receivers scheduled for free agency, including the consistently reliable Wan'Dale Robinson. Harbaugh needs more at the pass-catching positions to support Dart. Coleman would slot in nicely on a young offense.
