UCF offensive tackle Amari Kight is an intriguing prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. The former 4-star recruit at Alabama eventually entered the transfer portal and ended up committing to the Knights. From there, Kight was a two-year starter and high-level performer while playing multiple positions.

Kight recently spoke exclusively with The Draft Network. Kight discussed his experience at this year’s Hula Bowl, which teams have shown interest in his services, positional versatility, his journey from Alabama to UCF, and so much more.

JM: You recently participated in the Hula Bowl. What was that experience like?

Amari Kight: It was definitely a fun experience. It gave me a chance to get back out there. The Hula Bowl was held at UCF. It was nice to practice and play in my old stadium again. I had a lot of fun. A bunch of my teammates were also participants this year.

I made a good impression on a lot of people. I really enjoyed the Hula Bowl.

JM: What do you think you proved to scouts in attendance?

Amari Kight: I wanted to go out there and prove how versatile I am as a player. I wanted to show that I’m a physical presence on the field. I went out there and showed everyone what I can do. I highlighted my skill set.

JM: You probably met with a lot of teams at the Hula Bowl. That's standard practice. Did any of those team meetings particularly stand out? Which teams spent more time with you?

Amari Kight: I didn’t have any bad meetings, that’s for sure. I met with the Cardinals, Browns, Bears, Chargers, a handful of teams. I met with a few other teams as well. I enjoyed every encounter I had with those teams. I can’t complain.

JM: There’s lots of interest in you and it’s easy to see why. Now that you've had time to think about it, how do you reflect on the decision to transfer from Alabama to UCF?

Amari Kight: It was all about getting on the field and playing ball. That’s what went into that decision. I had to step out of my comfort zone. At that point, I had never stepped foot outside of the state of Alabama. It was exciting to try something new. It worked out for me. I’m thankful I made that decision.

JM: The majority of your experience is at offensive tackle. Is that where you primarily see yourself playing at the next level? You talked about being versatile.

Amari Kight: When meeting with teams at the Hula Bowl, we did discuss the possibility of me playing guard. I wanted to talk about my versatility. Throughout my college career, I’ve played both tackle and both guard positions. That was something that stood out to scouts.

Whatever a team asks me to do, I feel comfortable doing it. Not just that, I believe in my ability to do it at a high level.

JM: Is Amari Kight a phone-booth blocker, or athletic in space? How would you describe your traits and identity as an offensive lineman?

Amari Kight: I feel like I’m a good combination of both. I’m able to play in a phone booth by locking onto a guy and engaging in the trenches. I can also play in space and block those guys on the second and third levels by getting a hat on a hat, freeing up a lane for my ball carriers.

JM: The tape is so much fun, and you were a lot of fun at the Hula Bowl as well. We've appreciated your time today. Why should an NFL team use a 2025 draft pick on Amari Kight?

Amari Kight: You’re getting a guy who is going to come in and work every single day. I bring a lot of versatility to the table. I can grasp a playbook because I’m a coachable player. You’re going to get the most out of me every single day. I’m going to win over the locker room by earning the trust of my teammates.

You’re going to get my best. That’s why a team should come get me.
