Boston College offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo is among the most straightforward evaluations in the 2025 NFL Draft. Trapilo is a multi-year starter at offensive tackle who possesses the size, length, and traits required to thrive there at the next level. Most recently, the Eagles standout displayed his ability to put forth high-level performances at both left and right tackle at this year’s Senior Bowl.

Trapilo recently spoke exclusively with The Draft Network. Trapilo discussed his experience in Mobile, what he proved to scouts in attendance, his favorite plays to run in the playbook, and more.

JM: You recently attended this year's Senior Bowl. What was your experience like in Mobile?

Ozzy Trapilo: It was awesome. It was truly an honor. All of the advertising and branding claims the best of the best are in Mobile, so to be able to compete in that atmosphere was really incredible. All of us were super lucky to have that opportunity. I was honored, to say the least.

JM: You maximized the opportunity. What do you think you proved to scouts in attendance?

Ozzy Trapilo: I think I did my best to confirm what was already on tape. Most of the tape they're watching on me, the scouting they’re doing is based on how I played this past season. My goal at the Senior Bowl was to give them affirmation on what I put on tape throughout the year. I think I accomplished that.

JM: No doubt you did. You probably met with a lot of teams at the Senior Bowl. That's standard practice. Which of those meetings stood out to you? Any teams show particular interest in you?

Ozzy Trapilo: To be completely honest, I met with every team at least once. It was rapid fire. They only gave us three days to meet with all 32 teams. I think all of my meetings went well. I wouldn’t single any out over the others. I had a lot of great conversations with a lot of great people. Again, it was all a part of the opportunity I was fortunate to have in Mobile.

I think I took advantage of those interview opportunities. A lot of the interviews followed a simple template. For example, I think every team asked about my leadership qualities. I was drawing plays on the board. They were good introductory meetings I’d say. I think toward the NFL Combine, I’ll probably have more meetings, and those will be more specific.

I can’t single any of those meetings out. It was hectic, but I had a lot of great conversations.

JM: In a class where there are a lot of question marks surrounding the offensive linemen, especially from a positional perspective, I really appreciate that there are no questions about your position. You're an offensive tackle through and through, a multi-year starter at right tackle. Teams must appreciate how straightforward your evaluation is. Did you get that vibe?

Ozzy Trapilo: I appreciate you saying that. I think it helps that I started out my career when I was younger [my redshirt freshman year] at guard. I do have experience at both tackle and guard, but like you said, I gave the teams affirmation at the Senior Bowl that I’m definitely a tackle. That’s what they saw on film.

My size and frame [6-foot-7 and 321 pounds] also confirm that I’m a tackle. Like you mentioned, me being an offensive tackle was solidified for teams during my week at the Senior Bowl. I was thankful for that. I love playing offensive tackle.

JM: Like I said, you’re a tackle through and through. Is Ozzy Trapilo a phone-booth blocker, or athletic in space? How would you describe your traits and identity as an offensive lineman?

Ozzy Trapilo: That’s a great question. I think I have athletic abilities in space. I’m able to open up, especially in pin-and-pull, or some type of screen to the outside. I also think in terms of downhill gap scheme runs, that was something we did a lot of at Boston College.

Our goal was to control the line of scrimmage in the run game. We wanted to keep the offense on schedule, especially on 1st-and-10. Our motto was to stay on schedule. The coaching staff at BC did a great job making sure we were versatile players. We were well-rounded in that aspect because we called a little bit of everything in our playbook.

JM: Building on that, what was your favorite play to run in the playbook and why? Something you get excited about in the huddle?

Ozzy Trapilo: I always loved running inside zone to the left. I was a right tackle, so based on the front, that usually meant I was sitting on a double team with someone. When you’re an offensive lineman, that’s just one of the best things ever (laughs).

The guy next to you, in my case, it was [right guard] Jack Conley, we’re both over 300 pounds. That’s over 600 pounds double-teaming one defensive lineman. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun (laughs). That was one of my favorite plays.

JM: We've appreciated your time today. This has been outstanding. In closing, what kinda guy is Ozzy Trapilo going to be at the next level?

Ozzy Trapilo: I’m going to try to be the same guy I was at Boston College. I have a first in, last out mentality. I’m just very steady as someone you can rely and depend on, both on and off the field.

I think my overall character is that of a Steady Eddie. I’m always going to be present doing what I need to do. I’m going to do my best to keep that going. That’s who I am as a person on and off the field.

Being the same, consistent person I already am should take me a long way.
