Which Team Will Have NFL's Best Record In 2024?

The Baltimore Ravens posted the NFL’s best record during the 2023 regular season at 13-4. The Ravens were eventually defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs 17-10 in the AFC Championship Game. Both teams are serious candidates to lead the NFL in wins throughout 2024.

With NFL training camps opening in approximately three weeks, it’s time to look ahead to some never-too-early candidates to own the league’s best record in 2024. Three franchises trailed the Ravens by one victory (12) last season.

BetOnline’s NFL futures prop betting landscape for the best record during the 2024 campaign has taken shape. A promising campaign awaits several Super Bowl contenders. The top 10 betting options shake out as follows:

  • Kansas City Chiefs (+500)

  • Baltimore Ravens (+550)

  • San Francisco 49ers (+550)

  • Detroit Lions (+750)

  • Cincinnati Bengals (+900)

  • Atlanta Falcons (+1400)

  • Buffalo Bills (+1400)

  • Miami Dolphins (+1400)

  • New York Jets (+1400)

  • Philadelphia Eagles (+1600)

THE FAVORITE: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

The 2023 regular-season campaign was a disappointment by the Chiefs' standards. Andy Reid's squad entered the postseason at 11-6, their worst record since 2017 (10-6). As per usual, the Chiefs located their form during the postseason, winning their second consecutive Super Bowl.

The Chiefs will qualify for the postseason again as legit contenders to win a historic third straight Super Bowl, but a 13 or 14-win season may prove overly ambitious. Some of the difficulties that led to 2023's in-season struggles remain present. The wide receiver position is a massive projection with Rashee Rice in off-field trouble. Superstar cover-man L'Jarius Sneed was traded to the Tennessee Titans, creating new questions at cornerback.

MY PICK: SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

The 49ers were one of the franchises that went 12-5 last season, falling one victory short of matching the Ravens. In 2022, Kyle Shanahan's 49ers also finished tied for second, posting 13 wins (the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles had 14). San Francisco is an annual contender to lead the league in wins.

General manager John Lynch didn't lose any irreplaceable players during the offseason and he added a pair of starting-caliber defenders in Leonard Floyd and De'Vondre Campbell. The roster is absolutely loaded. Lynch has managed to hold onto wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk for now amidst contract discussions, and Ricky Pearsall was drafted in the first round as insurance.

There isn't a better supporting cast of weapons in the league. Quarterback Brock Purdy will once again contend for MVP honors this season. The defense has a new defensive coordinator in Nick Sorensen, one that features superstars at every level.

THE NO. 1 CONTENDER: BALTIMORE RAVENS

The oddsmakers view the defending champion Ravens as slight underdogs (+550) to the Chiefs (+500). The Ravens have undergone significant changes this offseason. An abundance of assistant coaches departed John Harbaugh’s side, with the likes of DC Mike Macdonald, defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson, and defensive line coach Anthony Weaver accepting promotions elsewhere.

Notable personnel departures include Jadeveon Clowney, Geno Stone, Patrick Queen, and Odell Beckham Jr. The Ravens did bring in Derrick Henry at running back, who should help form the scariest backfield in the league alongside two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The real goal for the Ravens in 2024 isn't to lead the league in regular-season wins, but to finally get past the Chiefs, Bills, and Bengals when it matters, three AFC contenders that have eliminated the Ravens from the playoffs during their latest three postseason appearances.
