Film Analysis:

Robert Scott Jr. is a long and stout run blocker, but he requires work in a variety of areas to round out his skill set at tackle.

As a run blocker, Scott does a nice job in firing off the line of scrimmage. He utilizes his length well and has shown consistency in establishing leverage. Play strength needs improvement as Scott will latch with defenders only to see them quickly disengage and pursue the football. Can play a bit upright at contact, but overall, Scott shows good balance to withhold downhill force. His skill set projects into a power run scheme where pulling remains limited. Climbs to the second level well where his long strides can step on the toes of linebackers quickly.

In pass pro, Scott has flashes but needs improvement in a variety of areas. Counters power well but can run into issues quickly with speed to either shoulder. Scott shows a hunger to engage first, but his willingness can be more so described as being impatient in his set. He will often lunge and reach to establish his hands, stopping his feet to move vertical toward the defender. The most average of pass rushers can quickly jump to his near shoulder and work around him. Knee bend and gaining an increased amount of depth in his hips would assist in maintaining leverage, as well.

Concerns remain about his fundamental athleticism, play strength, and pad level. Scott is a large man, but the ability to sink and drive is a work in progress at this point.

Overall, Scott is a developmental prospect who will enter the draft process with multiple years of ACC experience under his belt.
