Film Analysis:
Tyrone Broden presents an eye-popping frame for an offense. At 6-foot-7, Broden immediately draws eyes from opposing defenses. A long strider, he will eat up ground on corners and was often targeted on go-balls during his time at Bowling Green. Body control stands out in the red area, where he shows the ability to shield smaller corners. Ball skills can shine both in one-on-one opportunities and when working back to underthrown routes. He’s usually a hands-catcher and can open eyes with his athleticism (Marshall), but he needs more consistency in receiving away from his frame to overwhelm corners with his length. He’s a creative runner after the catch, where his footwork and vision showcase the ability to pick up extra yards.
Concerns remain about his explosiveness off the line of scrimmage where acceleration lacks to quickly threaten defenders. He can sink hips but more flexibility is warranted to snap off routes. He can execute a diversified route tree but fine-tuning is needed in tempoing and coordination to truly threaten defenders at the next level.
Overall, Broden is an extremely intriguing prospect whose blend of elite size and above-average ball skills will interest teams that could also envision him as a TE. Adjusting to the SEC from the MAC will remain a massive part of his final evaluation.
