Jadarian Price Scouting Report

Although Jadarian Price served in the backup role at Notre Dame, he appears to have the physical tools of explosiveness, acceleration, and power to be a featured RB1 in an NFL offense.

Draft Grade: Round 2 - Winning Starter

Strengths:

Lateral Agility/Footwork: Price's overall vision is intrinsically linked to his footwork and lateral agility. Price can identify and set up openings in the defense, triggering lateral cuts or jump cuts to hit the hole quickly and get vertical. He is a violent cutter who can flow in one direction, stick his foot in the ground instantly, and change direction without losing momentum.

Vision: Price possesses good overall vision. Once he receives the handoff, he does an excellent job of scanning the entire line of scrimmage for openings. He effectively reads the defensive front along with second-level defenders to set up blocks and create his own lanes. Price's vision allows him to be a creative back, capable of turning a potentially negative play into a positive gain.

Explosiveness/Acceleration: With the ball in his hands, Price showcases the traits of an explosive athlete who can reach top speed quickly. In the open field, he has the acceleration to pull away from second- and third-level defenders and take the run the distance. Price's speed is also evident on outside zone runs, where he consistently wins the footrace to the sideline before turning the corner to pick up yardage.

Concerns:

Fumbles: Despite having only 113 carries last season, Price fumbled multiple times. Will these issues persist at the NFL level?

Production/Volume: During the 2025 season, Price served as the primary backup to Jeremiyah Love, which limited his overall carries and statistical production. This raises the question of whether Price can handle a full NFL workload as a true RB1 or if his skill set is better utilized within a committee approach.
