Baltimore Ravens veteran kicker Justin Tucker is the subject of an investigation into alleged inappropriate off-field behavior. Most recently, Tucker has been accused by seven additional massage therapists of sexual misconduct. His total number of accusers has now reached 16. The Ravens shouldn't stand by their kicker if the accusations are true.
Tucker signed a contract extension through the 2027 campaign, but releasing him would create $4.2 million in immediate cap savings while limiting the dead money charge to under $3 million. Alternatively, the Ravens may escape financial ramifications if he's found to be in breach of his contract following a league-driven investigation into his behavior.
The allegations against Tucker are extremely troubling. The 2025 NFL Draft features a deep pool of kicking prospects. We've identified three kickers the Ravens could target during April’s festivities if they eventually cut ties with Tucker.
Caden Davis, Ole Miss
Several NFL scouts consider Ole Miss' Caden Davis the best kicking prospect in this year's NFL draft. Davis was extremely accurate and efficient this past season. The former Texas A&M transfer connected on 24-of-29 attempts for a make percentage of 82.76%.
Davis showcased terrific leg strength by nailing four total kicks of 50-plus yards in consecutive seasons. The Coppell, Texas native was a 2024 Lou Groza Award semifinalist (nation's top placekicker) and was also named First-Team All-SEC. After barely playing at Texas A&M, Davis carved out a nice college career for himself as Ole Miss' unquestioned starter. Strength and mechanics are present for him to develop into one of the NFL's most productive kickers.
Andres Borregales, Miami
Andres Borregales is an experienced, veteran kicker who enters the draft as a four-year starter. Borregales possesses a decorated resume. He departs the Miami Hurricanes as the program’s all-time scoring leader. Kicking runs in the family. His brother Jose was an All-American for the Hurricanes in 2020.
Borregales was an extremely reliable 18-of-19 throughout the 2024 campaign for a career-high 94.7% conversion rate. In four seasons as a high-volume kicker, Borregales has never missed more than four kicks in a single campaign. That’s the definition of consistency. The Miami native is also 70% on 10 career (7-of-10) attempts from 50 yards or further. The Ravens had scouts present to watch him perform at this month’s East-West Shrine Bowl.
Ryan Fitzgerald, Florida State
Florida State's Ryan Fitzgerald has an opportunity to be the first kicker selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. This past season, Fitzgerald was a perfect 13-of-13. Most remarkably, he connected on five deep-kick attempts from 50-plus yards, with a long of 59, a new personal best.
Fitzgerald's illustrious 2024 campaign was a proper follow-up to his 2023 showing. The Seminoles standout was 19-of-21, showing terrific improvement after struggling from 2020-2022 (26-of-40 in total). Mechanical fixes to Fitzgerald's process helped convert him into college football's most accurate kicker. Given Tucker's current off-field issues, the Ravens should be doing their homework on the Coolidge, Georgia native.
