As the pre-draft process kicks into high gear, names across the college football landscape become ‘must watch’ each weekend. For the Senior Bowl, the premier showcase in the pre-draft process, the fall is a critical proving ground for players to boost their NFL draft stock, and ultimately, earn an invite to Mobile

Below, we’ll dive into five prospects whose matchups and individual skill sets will draw a hefty spotlight in Week 7.

Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss

A Florida transfer, Princely Umanmielen has been as good as any pass rusher in the country this year. He’s totaled at least four pressures in each game over the last month of the season, and a solid performance against projected first-round LSU tackles in Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr. could go a long way in his evaluation. Week 7 is the biggest game of his career thus far.

Jabbar Muhammad, CB, Oregon

A gritty, tough, and fundamentally elite corner for the Ducks, a matchup against Ohio State will hold weight toward finalizing Jabbar Muhammad’s player profile. While he doesn’t fit the typical NFL mold of a starting perimeter corner, flipping on his tape showcases one of the country’s elite defenders who has consistently produced in whatever uniform he’s worn in his college career. Success against Emeka Egbuka and freshman sensation Jeremiah Smith would further solidify his standing as one of the elite inside-out corners in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jordan James, RB, Oregon

A lot of the onus will remain on quarterback Dillon Gabriel to dissect the Buckeyes’ defense, but Jordan James’ explosiveness will be a tall task to counter for Ohio State. James has received comps to former Oregon and current Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving due to his lateral agility and lightning-in-a-bottle type of skill set. He could be the X-factor for head coach Dan Lanning’s unit if they look to upset the Buckeyes and take hold of the Big Ten.

Jacob Parrish, DB, Kansas State

Similarly to Muhammad above, Jacob Parrish (5-foot-10) doesn’t fit the typical mold of an outside corner at the next level. While positional projection in certain schemes will come down the line, his matchups against Travis HunterJimmy Horn Jr.LaJohntay Wester, and Will Sheppard will carry weight toward finalizing his evaluation in Week 7. It could be a good old-fashioned Big 12 shootout in Boulder on Saturday, which should allow Parrish—five career INTs—to make plays on the football. It’s a massive week ahead for the Olathe, Kansas native in Parrish, the Wildcats’ premier perimeter corner.

Xavier Carlton, EDGE, California

With 21 pressures already this fall, Xavier Carlton has found his footing in the 2024 campaign. A week after recording three pressures and a sack against QB Cam Ward and the Miami Hurricanes, Carlton’s ability to push the pocket on high-leverage downs will continue to move the needle a bit on his projection down the road. In totality, Carlton checks off a few of the boxes teams look for in potential day-three rotational pass rushers.
