Film Analysis:

CJ Daniels was a standout wide receiver for the Liberty Flames in 2023, playing in one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Now heading into 2024, the Georgia native will look to lead a reloaded LSU offense. Daniels posted an impressive 1,067 yards with 10 touchdowns last season, aligning both on the perimeter and in the slot.

Daniels beautifully fits the WR3/4 role that teams look for. He’s a field stretcher with an innate feel for how to attack and manipulate defensive backs and has a great understanding of blind spots and leverage. He combines this with impressively late and reliable hands to offer the complete package of a down-field threat. He was asked to line up both as an outside receiver and in the slot. At the next level, I think he’ll retain a lot of the versatility shown on film, especially considering his abilities as a blocking option.

What's going to determine Daniels’ stock will be how productive and consistent he can be in the SEC. While he showed he was undoubtedly a next-level receiver at Liberty, with the increase in competition, Daniels will have an opportunity to show evaluators that he can play with the best of the best in college football.

Where I’d like to see Daniels grow is becoming a more consistent yards-after-catch threat. Daniels lacks that extra twitch and suddenness that elite ball-carriers possess. I also will need to see Daniels grow as a separator in the intermediate and short areas of the field. If Daniels can prove to be a threat in all areas of the field, the sky’s the limit.

Daniels best projects as a mid-round receiver who’ll be asked to immediately fill a role as a third or fourth option. From there, he’ll have the opportunity to prove himself and improve his role on an offense.
