Iowa defensive tackle Logan Lee had a 31.5-inch vertical and 9-foot-6 broad at 281 pounds at the NFL Combine. Lee also ran a 4.37 shuttle and a 7.16 3-cone. Lee produced nine sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss over the previous three seasons.

Lee recently spoke exclusively with The Draft Network about his performance at the NFL Combine, which positions he’ll play at the next level, which teams are showing interest in his services, and more.

JM: You were an extremely steady contributor at Iowa, totaling nine sacks and 18.5 TFLs over the previous three seasons. What do you think it is about your game that led to such consistency?

Logan Lee: I was able to do my job and do it well. I had a coaching staff that harped on being a selfless player. It was never about my own statistics. If you're doing your job for your teammates at a high level, it means you’re performing well.

Sometimes that means sacrificing your own statistics. Iowa is a program that is extremely consistent on a yearly basis.

JM: You’re a selfless player. Is Logan Lee a better run-stopper or pass-rusher at this point?

Logan Lee: I’m a better run-stopper at this point in time. That’s what we take more pride in at Iowa. I’m absolutely capable of rushing the passer as well. I made the most of those opportunities when I received them.

JM: Speaking of, how would you describe your pass-rush arsenal?

Logan Lee: I would say it’s fairly diverse. I probably have five moves that I consider my go-to. I use them pretty consistently. Most of them are off the long arm. I often do a long-arm and pull, a long-arm lift, a long-arm club. Most of my moves come off that.

If I know it’s a blitz, I’m able to get a little bit more penetration. I’ll just do a stab-club in that situation. In our base defense where I have to read and react and really try to play two gaps, I’ll hit-and-sit with both hands and then try to shed the block afterward.

JM: I love that. You enjoyed a really good performance at the NFL Combine. You had a 31.5-inch vertical and 9-foot-6 broad at 281 pounds. You also ran a 4.37 shuttle and a 7.16 3-cone. Were you satisfied with your showing?

Logan Lee: I was satisfied. I was pretty happy with the results. I was a little bummed about my 40 though. It wasn’t my best showing. That’s how it goes sometimes. I also thought I was going to do better with my bench press. I locked out on two of my reps, so I had two taken away.

After a long week like that, I was confident I was going to get over 30 reps, but it wasn’t to be. It didn’t happen. Outside of that, I had lost seven pounds of body weight. Between the body weight, 40, and bench press, those were the only things I was a little bummed about.

JM: You’re being hard on yourself. It was a great overall showing at the NFL Combine.

Logan Lee: Oh for sure. I PR’d [personal record] in everything else.

JM: Exactly. Have teams talked to you about potentially playing defensive end at the next level? Or is it strictly interior?

Logan Lee: It depends on the type of defense. If it’s a defense with three down linemen, it sounds like most teams see me playing the 4i, or I’d be an interior guy in nickel defense. I’m pretty fortunate because my size and frame allow me to be more malleable to fit whatever system I get drafted into. I’m pretty consistently hearing 3-technique, 4i, and 5-technique.

JM: You have a ton of versatility. Have you met with any teams throughout this process, whether in person or virtually?

Logan Lee: I’ve spoken with 29 teams. I’ve met with more than 15 teams on two or more occasions. There are probably 10 teams I’ve met with three times or more. I went on an official-30 visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Vikings, Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers, and Rams have been in pretty consistent contact.

A bunch of teams have reached out more than three times. You never know what’s going to happen on draft weekend. I met with teams at the East-West Shrine and NFL Combine.

JM: There’s a lot of interest in you and it’s easy to see why. We've appreciated your time today. What kind of impact is Logan Lee going to make at the next level?

Logan Lee: I’m going to stick around to do my job at a high level. I want to help the team win football games. I’m not worried about my own statistics. I just want to be a positive contributor to the team’s overall success. I’m looking forward to helping a team succeed.
