Those intrigued by deep sleepers in the 2024 NFL Draft need to familiarize themselves with Augustana University offensive tackle Blake Larson. Larson is an exciting project with verified measurements of 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds with an 84-inch wingspan. NFL offensive line coaches are excited about the moldable traits Larson possesses.

Larson recently spoke exclusively with The Draft Network about how he's developed his traits over the years, his participation in the College Gridiron Showcase, playing at Augustana University, and so much more.

JM: You recently participated in the College Gridiron Showcase. What do you think you proved to NFL scouts and decision-makers in attendance?

Blake Larson: I think I proved that I can compete against talented players from better conferences. That’s what I set out to prove at the College Gridiron Showcase. I believe I did just that. That was big for me coming from a smaller school. I practiced against a bunch of talented players from different divisions.

I also showcased my athleticism. I got out there in space and showed off a variety of pass sets. I used my leverage well and took to the coaching.

JM: You must have gone into the week with a chip on your shoulder. Like yeah, I can compete at this level, too.

Blake Larson: It was an awesome opportunity. I really appreciated it. Going down there, I was just excited to line up against players that wore helmets from a bunch of different schools and conferences.

There were a lot of D-I players in attendance. I more than held my own. I had fun down there while learning what this pre-draft process is all about. It was awesome to compete and showcase my abilities in front of NFL scouts and teams.

Overall, it was a big chance for me to compete with EDGE rushers from D-I schools.

JM: You made the most of that opportunity. How would you write your own scouting report? What’s at the forefront of Blake Larson’s skill set?

Blake Larson: I’m a hard worker first and foremost. I play with a terrific amount of effort. That comes first. I do what I’m told at a high level and I always want to improve. I love to compete and get better. I always want to test myself against better competition. I’m always competing with the man in the mirror.

I have a good frame for the position as well. I’m an athletic offensive tackle prospect. I can play in space.

JM: Do you see yourself primarily playing tackle at the next level? You certainly have the wingspan and arm length for it. Or have NFL teams discussed moving you to guard or center?

Blake Larson: I will most likely be playing tackle at the next level. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll play any position I’m told to play. But yeah, I think it’ll be tackle. I can play either side, left and right tackle. If I get the opportunity to play guard, I’ll do that as well.

JM: That’s awesome. Which NFL teams did you feel showed a lot of interest in you throughout your meetings at the College Gridiron Showcase?

Blake Larson: The Chiefs, Browns, and Panthers, come to mind. All of my meetings went well. Everybody that I spoke with, it went great. It was nice to talk football with different NFL teams. I got to hear some feedback from them. It was a lot of fun.

JM: We’ve appreciated your time today. Why should a team use one of their 2024 NFL Draft picks on Blake Larson?

Blake Larson: If an NFL team is looking for an offensive tackle prospect that’s willing to work hard every single day, a guy that loves to compete and get better, I’m your guy. I have the proper tools and mindset to bring to the table. I bring versatility to the O-line room. I would be a great fit for a team like that.
