Few signal-callers have shown consistent year-to-year growth like Oregon quarterback Bo Nix has. That makes Nix one of the most intriguing quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft. He possesses an excellent opportunity to hear his name called within the opening 32 selections.

Nix enjoyed an elite season, completing 77.4% of his passing attempts while throwing for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns versus just three interceptions. Nix finished first in the nation in passing touchdowns and second in yards.

A Heisman runner-up, Nix added 234 rushing yards and six touchdowns to his offensive totals. His dual-threat abilities will be in high demand. We've swiftly identified three potential team fits for Nix.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

The Patriots are entering a new era following the departure of Bill Belichick. Jerod Mayo has been appointed as Belichick's successor and the Patriots plan to hire a general manager to handle personnel. Priority No. 1 for the new regime is finding a franchise quarterback.

The Patriots possess the third overall pick in April. That means they aren't guaranteed an opportunity to select Caleb Williams or Drake Maye. The Patriots could instead take Marvin Harrison Jr., who is the best overall player in the draft.

New England also possesses the 34th overall selection in the second round. If Nix slips past the first 32 selections and the Patriots are unable to land a premium quarterback prospect, Foxborough instantly becomes a prime landing spot for Nix at the beginning of day two.

MIAMI DOLPHINS

The Dolphins are questioning the future of their quarterback position following Saturday's lifeless 26-7 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs. Tua Tagovailoa completed a season-low 51.3% of his passing attempts for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. You wonder if doubt has begun creeping into the minds of Miami's decision-makers.

The Dolphins aren't going to do anything drastic this offseason. Tagovailoa is under contract through 2024 via the fifth-year option, which will pay him a fully guaranteed $23.17 million. His regular-season success alongside head coach Mike McDaniel has likely earned him one final opportunity as the unquestioned starter. That doesn't mean general manager Chris Grier can't start mulling the future. If Nix is available at Miami's second-round selection (No. 55 overall), Grier should think long and hard about pulling the trigger.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Steelers sophomore first-round quarterback Kenny Pickett watched Monday's playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills from the bench. A healthy Pickett had previously been benched in favor of No. 3 quarterback Mason Rudolph, and head coach Mike Tomlin doubled down on that decision entering the postseason.

It's hard to fathom the Steelers moving on from Pickett so quickly after making him the lone quarterback selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. But Pickett's trajectory isn't exactly screaming long-term franchise quarterback, either. General manager Omar Khan is currently slated to own the 20th and 51st picks in the first two rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft. Nix could garner consideration at either selection.
