The 2024 Senior Bowl will provide an opportunity for NFL draft prospects to prove themselves on the largest pre-draft stage. Missouri cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine plans on taking full advantage. Abrams-Draine recently spoke exclusively with the Senior Bowl and Draft Network to discuss his motivation for accepting his invitation to compete in Mobile, Alabama.

Abrams-Draine also discussed what he's striving to prove to NFL general managers and scouts in attendance at the Senior Bowl, his recent ball production, how he’d write his own scouting report, and more. Let's get to know Abrams-Draine better ahead of his journey to the Senior Bowl.

JM: Where were you when you found out about your Senior Bowl invite and what was your initial reaction?

Kris Abrams-Draine: I was in the facility up in Missouri. I was very thrilled to receive my invite.

JM: What motivated you to accept the Senior Bowl’s offer?

Kris Abrams-Draine: I’ve always watched the Senior Bowl. Since I was a little kid, I’ve been watching that game on television. I’m excited for my opportunity to compete in such a pretentious game.

JM: What are you hoping to prove to NFL general managers, coaching staffs, and scouts in attendance in Mobile?

Kris Abrams-Draine: I’m looking to prove that what I accomplished this season wasn’t a fluke. That’s exactly who I am as a player. I want to make sure everybody sees that in Mobile.

JM: Speaking of, how would you describe your skill set in your own words? Self-scout yourself.

Kris Abrams-Draine: I’d say that I’m the ultimate competitor. I’m definitely a ball-hawk. I’d finish by saying that I can make secure, wrap-up tackles. I love coming downhill and playing in run support.

JM: You had a career-high four interceptions this season and you leave Missouri with 39 pass breakups to your name. What is it about your game that leads to so much ball production?

Kris Abrams-Draine: I used to play wide receiver growing up. I’m used to having the ball in my hands. I’m very comfortable around the ball. I understand how to play the ball once it’s in the air. From just seeing a receiver’s alignment or whatever, his tempo coming off the ball, I know what route he could possibly be running.

JM: If you had to compare yourself to a current NFL cornerback, who would you choose and why?

Kris Abrams-Draine: I would probably say Trevon Diggs from the Dallas Cowboys. He’s another guy that went from playing receiver to cornerback just like I did. We’re both ballhawks at the cornerback position nowadays.

JM: That’s an interesting comparison. What can you achieve at the Senior Bowl that you can’t at other pre-draft events?

Kris Abrams-Draine: I’m excited for all of the exposure that comes with playing in the Senior Bowl. All 32 teams are going to be in attendance. General managers, scouts, and what have you. Everybody from all 32 NFL teams is going to be watching us closely. It’s a great opportunity for me to prove that I’m a great football player.

JM: What’s on Kris Abrams-Draine’s pre-game playlist?

Kris Abrams-Draine: I mostly listen to Rylo Rodriguez and NoCap. I listen to a lot of stuff, but mainly those guys because they’re from Mobile, Alabama like me.

JM: We love that. At the end of the week, what does a successful Senior Bowl look like for Kris Abrams-Draine?

Kris Abrams-Draine: A successful Senior Bowl means I played to the best of my ability. I gave it my all by putting my best foot forward. I have to stay healthy throughout the entire week as well.
