Film Analysis:

Andrew Coker is a redshirt senior OT who has made appearances in more than 40 career games for TCU. In his time at TCU, Coker played multiple positions including both tackle spots. Coker has the ideal overall mass and length to be a contributor in both the run game and in pass protection in the NFL.

In the run game, Coker has the atheism to climb to second-level defenders in zone run schemes. Coker has also been asked to be the lead blocker on plays where he has to pull and lead, showing to have enough athleticism to get out in front and get to defenders in a controlled enough position to make contact.

In pass protection, Coker's best reps are when he can utilize his arm length, shoot his hands, control the defense, and control the rep. Coker's arm length allows him to make contact first with defenders and force them around the arc. Coker looks most comfortable when he keeps inside leverage and can force defenders to run around the arc/pocket.

However, there are multiple areas in which he has to improve. Coker is a waist-bender, which means he lunges at defenders and is often in an unbalanced position which results in him whiffing on blocks. Coker often engages defenders without having the proper base to sustain blocks and move them off the line of scrimmage.

Another prominent issue with Coker is his hands. Coker often shoots his hands too quickly and leaves them in place, giving the defenders the advantage of knowing exactly how to defeat his hands and quickly win the rep. Coker lacks the high-end athleticism to quickly recover and once defenders get past him, they have a clear path to the quarterback.
