The 2024 NFL Scouting Combine is fast approaching. With the Senior Bowl officially in our rearview mirror, the NFL Combine represents the next opportunity for prospects to improve their pre-draft stock ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. Every year, outstanding athletic testers elevate themselves a full round or two due to exiting the NFL Combine as a point of conversation.

With that in mind, we've identified five tight ends who could raise their draft stock at the NFL Combine.

BROCK BOWERS, GEORGIA

The positional value discussion will continue surrounding Georgia tight end Brock Bowers throughout the pre-draft process. Remove position talk from your analysis and Bowers is a top-five player in the 2024 NFL Draft class. Bowers has previously had a 10-foot-2 broad jump despite being 6-foot-4 and weighing 240 pounds, according to Bruce Feldman. Bowers' alleged 36-inch vertical would have tied for fourth-best among all participating tight ends at last year's NFL Combine. The Bulldog standout is also a candidate to lead the position group in bench press reps should he partake.

Teams won't exit Indianapolis questioning Bowers' athletic ability.

THEO JOHNSON, PENN STATE

Penn State tight end Theo Johnson is among the most athletic tight ends in this year's crop of movable weapons. The Nittany Lions didn't regularly feature Johnson in the passing game, proven by his 34 receptions for 341 receiving yards this season. Johnson did score seven touchdowns, showcasing an efficient feel for reaching the end-zone.

Johnson previously ran a 4.62 laser 40-yard dash at The Opening. The Windsor, Ontario, Canada native has likely since improved that time into the 4.5s. Johnson could be a top-three finisher in the 40.

DEVIN CULP, WASHINGTON

Devin Culp was an underused commodity at Washington. Playing in an explosive offense alongside Rome Odunze, Ja'Lynn Polk and Jalen McMillan often relegated Culp to the shadows. It's precisely why he totaled just 16 catches for 208 yards and two touchdowns in 2023. It's also why Culp is being underrated heading into Indianapolis.

Culp’s highlight reel may be brief, but he routinely maximized his opportunities by showcasing excellent body control and athleticism for his position. A former basketball standout at Gonzaga Prep, Culp should test well enough to increase his pre-draft stock.

JAHEIM BELL, FLORIDA STATE

Jaheim Bell's weigh-in process at the Senior Bowl clocked in at a compact 6-foot-1, 244 pounds. Bell then improved his pre-draft stock by making explosive plays in the passing game throughout a productive week of practice. I expect Bell's ascension to continue at the NFL Combine.

Natural athleticism allows Bell to create vertical separation. Bell arguably possesses the most explosion among his positional competitors. It should lead to outstanding testing results in Indianapolis.

TIP REIMAN, ILLINOIS

NFL draft aficionados should familiarize themselves with Illinois' Tip Reiman. The big-bodied pass-catcher measured in at a verified 6-foot-4, 273 pounds at the East-West Shrine Bowl with hands larger than 10 inches and arms longer than 33 inches. Reiman then highlighted pass-catching upside as a vertical threat throughout the week of practice.

Reiman is expected to be among the position's most impressive testers, sources told TDN. If Reiman puts up eye-popping numbers at 270 pounds, NFL teams will promptly bump him up their draft boards.
