As we’ve wrapped the NFL season and head to the playoffs, it’s officially the offseason for most teams—a time to get better. And if the Houston Texans proved anything this season, the quickest and most effective way to get better is through the NFL draft. Check out my brand new 2024 NFL Mock Draft to see how I decided to improve rosters around the NFL. Comment and let me know what you think.
2024 NFL Mock Draft
1. Chicago Bears (via Carolina)
Caleb Williams, QB, USC
While I believe that all of the talk coming out of Chicago about keeping Justin Fields and continuing to build around him is real, when the moment comes and it is decision time, I believe that the Bears will draft Caleb Williams. The opportunity to draft a generational talent like Williams will be too much to pass up for the organization.
2. Washington Commanders
Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
Timing is everything. I believe that Sam Howell has shown that he has tools that you can develop and work with at the quarterback position. But the Commanders are under new ownership that appears to be ready to start over from top to bottom and build this organization their way. So, with this pick, the Commanders draft another highly talented quarterback from North Carolina, Drake Maye.
3. New England Patriots
Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
The Patriots need to draft a quarterback, but with the top two options off the board, they decide to turn their attention to filling out the rest of the holes on this roster. Joe Alt is an immediate plug-and-play OT that will help the Patriots get younger and fill a premium position.
4. Arizona Cardinals
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
If what Jonathan Gannon said was true about Kyler Murray being the franchise QB, this should be the easiest pick of the draft. Drafting Marvin Harrison Jr. to give Murray a No. 1 option is not only the right thing to do but appears to be the best value pick, as Harrison Jr. is arguably the best player in this draft.
5. Los Angeles Chargers
Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
The Chargers have finished the 2023 season as one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL. But optimism is centered around the fact that they have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. With this selection, they decide to help out Justin Herbert and select one of the best tight end prospects we’ve seen in recent years, Brock Bowers. Bowers was dominant during his time at Georgia and has a lot of traits that translate to the NFL.
6. New York Giants
Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
If we know anything about the state of the Giants, it’s that the Daniel Jones era is done—which means it’s time to look for another quarterback. What Brian Daboll showed this year is that if you give him a mobile quarterback who makes smart plays with football and can take deep shots, he can create an offense. All of those qualities are exactly what Jayden Daniels has. Daniels is a true dual-threat quarterback who throws one of the best deep balls in the entire draft. With this selection, there should be fireworks in New York.
7. Tennessee Titans
Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State
The Titans’ offensive line issues have been well-documented over the past few years. Last year, they selected Peter Skoronski in the first round and it paid good dividends. This year, I believe they look to further solidify that selection by selecting LT Olu Fashanu.
8. Atlanta Falcons
Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
Atlanta has tried Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder, and Taylor Heinicke and all have provided marginal returns. The Falcons have spent high draft capital on top skill players, but they need to find a quarterback who can throw the football. Michael Penix Jr. is exactly that. Penix has a gunslinger mentality with pinpoint accuracy and should be the quarterback that the Falcons need to consistently activate their top players like Kyle Pitts and Drake London.
9. Chicago Bears
Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
With their first pick, the Bears drafted their quarterback of the future. So, it’s only right they draft a player they feel will lead the future of this defense with this pick. Jared Verse paired with Montez Sweat should give the Bears a nice one-two punch and get this Bears defense heading in the right direction long-term.
10. New York Jets
Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
The Jets can draft an OT in this pick, but with a deep OT class, I believe they decide to go receiver. Malik Nabers has a skill set that can make an impact on day one. The combination of Nabers and Garrett Wilson should be fun to watch with Aaron Rodgers back at QB.

11. Minnesota Vikings
Jer'Zhan Newton, IDL, Illinois
The Vikings have decisions to make at quarterback, but I have faith they will figure that part out because of the offensive weapons they have to support whoever is at quarterback. The position that needs to be addressed the most is DT. This has been a positional need for many years and the Vikings need to address it to shore up this defense moving forward.
12. Denver Broncos
Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
The Broncos made it known that they are moving on from Russell Wilson, so quarterback is a position of need. But they also need to address the receiver room and draft a player who they believe can be a No. 1 receiver, and that’s exactly what Keon Coleman is. Coleman is a physical receiver who is explosive and can make plays—exactly the type of dominant skill set the Broncos need.
13. Las Vegas Raiders
JC Latham, OT, Alabama
The Raiders have plenty of holes to fill, including quarterback. But with the way the board fell, I believe any quarterback at this point may be a reach for a Raiders team that has a lot of needs. So, with this pick, they get to the basics and address the trenches by drafting OT JC Latham.
14. New Orleans Saints
Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
The Saints have consistently swung and missed on trying to find the next guy at the edge rusher position after Cam Jordan retires. With this pick, they swing again, and I believe they get it right. Laiatu Latu has a great first step and is a technician with his hands. I truly believe that he is a plug-and-play edge rusher with great upside.
15. Indianapolis Colts
Bralen Trice, EDGE, Washington
Even with Anthony Richardson going down early this year, the Colts battled and are on their way to being AFC contenders with a few key additions. One of those additions would be another edge rusher. Bralen Trice fits perfectly in this scheme and helps a Colts defense that needs to continue to evolve.
16. Seattle Seahawks
Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
The Seahawks appear to be a few pieces away from being a true NFC contender. One of those positions is the edge rusher position. They’ve drafted youth at this position over the past few years, but with edge rushers, you can never have enough. Chop Robinson may have the most explosive first step out of all the edge rushers and I'm sure Pete Carroll will find ways to get him on the field early and often.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars
Troy Fautanu, OT, Washington
The Jaguars win the award for being the biggest rollercoaster of a team this season. At moments, they looked like one of the best teams in the NFL. In other moments, they looked like they are a year away. To help steady that consistency, the Jaguars draft OL Troy Fautanu. Fautanu can play both tackle and guard to help shore up this OL moving forward.
18. Cincinnati Bengals
Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
The Bengals are going to have to make a decision when it comes to their trio of receivers. And instead of opting to pay, I think they decide to take advantage of a deep receiver class and draft the replacement. Rome Odunze is a nuanced route-runner and should be a plug-and-play receiver that will help keep this offense humming when Joe Burrow is at QB.
19. Green Bay Packers
Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
The Packers once again draft a defensive player in the first round. The corner position opposite Jaire Alexander needs help and Kool-Aid McKinstry can provide that. The Packers need a defense that can hold its own while their offense finds its stride under Jordan Love.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
The Buccaneers drafting Amarius Mims potentially gives them bookend tackles alongside Tristan Wirfs. Baker Mayfield appears to have earned another year as a starter, but the Buccaneers still need to protect him if they want to see the best version of him next year.

21. Arizona Cardinals (via HOU)
Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama
To many people’s surprise, the Cardinals have shown toughness and grit the entire season and appear to be moving in the right direction. After helping the offensive side of the ball with their first pick, the Cardinals look at the defensive side and draft edge rusher Dallas Turner. Turner has great upside and has the potential to be a double-digit sack-per-year player.
22. Los Angeles Rams
Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU
The Rams have been surprisingly competitive this year and if they add the right pieces this offseason, can be a dangerous team to play. For that to happen, they need to keep Matthew Stafford—who has a history of injuries—upright. Kingsley Suamataia is extremely talented and can step right in and provide valuable reps.
23. Pittsburgh Steelers
Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
Pittsburgh struck gold with their pick of OT Broderick Jones last year. This year, they go back to that same well and try to solve the RT issue and draft Talese Fuaga. Fuaga is a traditional RT, which is a good thing for a Steelers team that wants to maintain an identity of running the football.
24. Miami Dolphins
Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona
The biggest question for the Dolphins has been their physicality both offensively and defensively. With this pick, they address that offensively and draft OT Jordan Morgan. Morgan should come in and immediately compete for snaps and help this team become a more well-rounded team against the rougher teams in the NFL.
25. Philadelphia Eagles
Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
On paper, the Eagles have one the best rosters in football. But they appear to have a bump in the road in terms of executing both offensively and defensively. With this pick, they add to the defensive side of the football and draft CB Terrion Arnold.
26. Kansas City Chiefs
Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
The Chiefs are one of the best teams in the NFL and also this is the worst version of the Kansas City offense we have seen recent;y—both things can be true. A big part of that is due to the inconsistency from the receiver corps. The Chiefs draft the electric playmaker from Texas, Xavier Worthy, as he will provide a much-needed vertical threat for this offense.
27. Houston Texans (via CLE)
Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
The Texans have without a doubt been the surprise team of the NFL with how quickly they've been able to build a winning team. And they've been able to do that through the draft. With this pick, they continue to do that and draft CB Nate Wiggins to pair with their other superstar corner, Derek Stingley Jr.
28. Detroit Lions
J.T. Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State
The Lions have made strides defensively to complement one of the better offenses in the NFL. With this pick, they continue to build on that and find Aidan Hutchinson a running mate on the opposing side. J.T. Tuimoloau's sack production has not filled up the box score, but when you watch the film, you see that he is great against the run and you easily see the upside of him as a pass rusher.
29. Buffalo Bills
Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon
It has been well-documented that Josh Allen likes taking the deep shot, and Troy Franklin is the exact player to help assist with that. Franklin can be a complementary piece to Stefon Diggs and should provide more efficiency to this offense when it comes to taking vertical shots down the field.
30. Dallas Cowboys
Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina
CeeDee Lamb has proven himself as one the best receivers in the NFL, but as currently constructed, the Cowboys need more balance to not be as Lamb-dependent in big-time games. Drafting Xavier Legette will help. Legette has the build of a physically dominant X-receiver and can win vertically down the field.
31. San Francisco 49ers
Graham Barton, IOL, Duke
The 49ers add to what is one of the only question marks of this team, the IOL. With this pick, they draft Duke's Graham Barton. Barton is a great fit because he can play OT, IOL, and C. That should help the 49ers reshuffle this OL and put their best five out there.
32. Baltimore Ravens
Javon Bullard, SAF, Georgia
The Ravens have done a wonderful job of taking the best player available. So, with this pick, they do no different. Instead of reaching for an immediate need, they draft SAF/nickel Javon Bullard. Bullard can fill multiple roles in this secondary and should provide some valuable reps for the Ravens.
